Meeting in the UK at the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, 22-23 May 2017
C-Motion is pleased to announce a C-Motion User Group Meeting, in the UK on 23th May 2017.
Prof. Jim Richards has kindly volunteered to host this free of charge single day event
at the University of Central Lancashire. So if you haven’t reserved your place yet,
please do so in the signup form tab above.
The event will take place in the Department of Allied Health Professions on UCLan's Preston Campus. Jim will introduce the department and staff and provide an overview of some of the research currently being undertaken by his team at UCLan.
We have also lined up four fabulous keynote presenters, who will deliver three presentations. The first is David Lunn (University of Leeds) who will present “Total hip replacements - understanding the variation of hip biomechanics during activities of daily living.” The other two presentations will be from Cathy Holt and her research group (Cardiff University). David Williams will present “Establishing synchronised dynamic fluoroscopy and image registration techniques with motion capture at Cardiff” and Paul Briggs will present “Quantifying changes in biomechanical function using a combination of Principle Component Analysis and data classification.” Following each of the presentations there will be time for questions and discussion
Alongside these exciting presentations Scott Selbie and Pete Loan will provide overviews of the latest developments at C-Motion, changes to Visual3D and a whistle-stop tour of new and soon to be released C-Motion products. You will also get the chance to ask any relevant questions that you may have regarding C-Motion, Visual3D or any other biomechanical issues you may wish to discuss.
In addition to all of that, Jim is going to allow us to take a tour of the department, which will allow us to see the laboratory setups as well as some selected PhD research project presentations.
Also, as part of the pre-conference CMUG activities, C-Motion will be holding a free of charge Workshop/Training session on Monday 22 May 2017. During the day Scott Selbie and Alan De Asha will provide an insight into many topics, including modelling, Inverse Kinematics, constrained motion and event sequences. This will be a high level Visual3D session with practical examples, and you will be expected to join in - so don’t forget your laptop.
