Visual3D is the premier biomechanics analysis tool for measuring movement and force data as collected by almost any kind of 3D motion capture system. It is a Microsoft Windows application. It provides the calculations needed for kinematics and kinetics - including support for instrumented treadmills. It includes the latest mathematical techniques for optimizations, signal processing and filtering, inverse kinematics, complex biomechanical modeling, forces and force structures, and much more.

How much does the software cost?

Visual3D costs $4,995 USD for a single license. Additional licenses are $2000 USD. A 4-license version is available for $10995.

How do I get the software?

Web download only. When purchased, an on-line customer account is created and all software is downloaded over the Internet from C-Motion accepts purchase orders, credit cards, bitcoin, wire transfers, and checks.

How many copies can I install?

Visual3D is licensed per computer. Licenses are activated and deactivated locally.

What are Student Versions?

Available only to Visual3D customers who maintain support, the student version is a package of 15 Visual3D licenses for $750 - BUT, they expire after a year, and must be repurchased (with support). The student version has its own downloads page.

Does it run on a MAC?

Visual3D is a Windows application. It will run on a MAC only in a VM, like Parallels or VMWare where Windows has been installed. Be sure to turn off any hardware graphics accelerators in a MAC VM for OpenGL compatibility.

Is paid support available?

Yes, and it is free the first year. Maintaining support is $1250 USD per year. Visual3D support keeps the web download access for updates active, and allows access to C-Motion's world-class experts for biomechanics assistance.

Is paid support required?

No, Visual3D will continue to run without purchasing support, you just won't be able to get updates or research help.

How does licensing work?

A single installation file and license file are used by the entire lab. Each installed copy of Visual3D will activate its license over the Internet, limited to the number of licenses purchased. Licenses can be deactivated from the Help menu in Visual3D.
