CMUG-Overview

The meeting is being hosted Dr.Komsak Sinsurin, Dr. Jim Richards, and Dr. Scott Selbie (C-Motion & Thiea Markerless) and will be held at Mahidol University. In addition to Visual3D, it will also provide information C-Motion's Dynamic Stereo X-ray (DSX) software, Theia Markerless' Theia3D markerless tracking software.

Mahidol University is the oldest institution and the biggest academic and research place for teaching physical therapy in Thailand. The faculty has been the first institute initiating academic degrees in undergrad and post-graduate levels. The faculty has various research laboratories and comprehensive research areas such as Biomechanics and Sports, Motor Control and Neural Plasticity, and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy Research.

Professor Jim Richards' is the director of the Allied Health Research unit at the University of Central Lancashire, UK. His research includes the clinical application of biomechanics, the development of new assessment tools for chronic disease, and the management of orthopaedic and neurological conditions. Professor Richards has authored over 160 peer reviewed journal papers, and written and edited a number of textbooks including Biomechanics in Clinic and Research (2008), the 5th edition of Whittle’s Gait Analysis (2012) and the Comprehensive Guide to Clinical Biomechanics (2018).

The C-Motion speaker will be Dr. Scott Selbie.
Dr. Selbie is Director of Research at C-Motion (USA), the president of Theia Markerless (Canada), and an adjunct Professor at Queen's University (Canada) and the University of Massachusetts (USA). Scott has been involved in the development of analytical tools for biomechanics based on 3D motion capture data for most of his career, and he has been intimately involved with the evolution of C-Motion’s Visual3D software since the original technology transfer from the National Institutes of Health.
